Is That Garage? First Birthday

About this event
One year of forward pressure.
One year of rewinds.
One year of building a proper underground UKG home in Naarm.
On March 21, Is That Garage? celebrates its first birthday the only way we know how — heavyweight selections, exclusive IDs, and a dancefloor locked from start to finish.
Leading the celebration:
Lowbrain (Boorloo / Perth) lands fresh off the back of a breakout year that’s pushed him onto the global club circuit. With releases through Lab Six Records and forthcoming heat via Love Clvb / Sweat It Out and Luude’s No Instruction, Lowbrain’s catalogue has already earned support from Interplanetary Criminal, Club Angel, Bushbaby, Badger and more — plus multiple BBC Radio 1 spins in 2025. Touching down mid AUS/NZ tour, he’s bringing a USB stacked with unreleased club heavers, hip-hop-laced heaters, four-to-the-floor pressure and two-step slammers. Expect live exclusives and serious weight.
Wax Thief (Naarm) represents the raw, classic end of the spectrum. Deeply inspired by mid-to-late ’90s UK Garage and 2000s bassline house, his productions channel the golden era with a modern punch. His breakout track Top Killa stormed the European festival circuit in 2024, while DJ support has come from heavyweights including Interplanetary Criminal, Sammy Virji, Michael Bibi, Marco Carola and more. As a DJ, Wax Thief brings authentic swing, rolling basslines, and proper club energy — no gimmicks, just groove.
Olive (UK → Naarm) delivers that unmistakable UK flavour. Since landing in Australia, she’s become a regular across some of Naarm’s most iconic spaces including The Third Day, Section 8 and Pitch Music & Arts Festival. Her sets move effortlessly between classic UKG, funky remixes, and multi-genre curveballs — always high energy, always dancefloor-focused, always rooted in UK sound system culture.
And of course, Garçon hold it down as the backbone of Is That Garage? — curating the journey, setting the tone, and keeping the momentum unpredictable. Deep knowledge, sharp programming, and instinctive crowd control have defined the past year — and they’ll be steering this birthday into full throttle.
One year in, and we’re only getting started.
Underground UKG.
Forward-thinking pressure.
A community built on swing and bassweight.
