About this event
"Soft muted dream folk … she is able to hold a tender and gentle space."
Singer-songwriter Lanę plays an intimate solo set at The Toff in Town on Wednesday 1st May. With a new release recorded with Florence and the Machine producer Brett Shaw in London, the music of Lanę is hushed, stripped back dream folk inspired by alternative groups of the '80s and '90s, including Sparklehorse, Portishead and Mazzy Star.
"Katankin is the solo moniker of Melbourne indie-folk singer-songwriter and producer, Helen Catanchin. Born of Russian and Romanian migrant parents, and with a difficult, often harrowing family history, Katankin’s music is nevertheless an ode and testament to love, faith, and ultimately, hope."
"Riley Catherall is a singer-songwriter based in Melbourne whose graceful trajectory into the Australian alt-country music world has not gone unnoticed. Riley has built a credible status as a one of the country’s most promising songwriters through his poetic sincerity and alluring live shows."
